About
Glen Allen Guitar Studio is independently owned and operated since 2026.
Founded in 2026 by Doug Clark, Glen Allen Guitar Studio is Glen Allen, VA’s new locally-owned home for electric guitar and bass repairs and lessons.
After 20 years running a successful IT consultancy (Rockitt Hill, LLC), Doug decided to make a change to do something closer to his heart. With 30 years experience playing both guitar and bass, he has spent extensive time learning a myriad of different styles - from blues to jazz fusion, and ambient to math rock and midwest emo - and continues to educate himself further whenever possible. He has taught numerous students over the years, from strangers to friends, all of varying ages and interests.
Doug has also spent much of his life learning how to repair and fix his own equipment. While not traditionally trained, Doug has broken (and fixed) Floyd Rose’s in the 1990’s, modded pedals in the 2000’s, built intensive, MIDI-forward pedalboards in the 2010’s, and refretted full instruments in 2020’s. Today, he is being apprenticed by a luthier to hone and perfect his skills.
Doug is ever vigilant, and will make sure you are always happy with the services Glen Allen Guitar Studio offers.
